IFE

Institute for Energy Technology (IFE) is a private research foundation with more than 600 employees.  IFE contributes to R&D on new solutions in renewable energy, energy-efficient industrial processes, , future-oriented energy systems, zero-emission transport solutions, digitalization, and more.

IFE established extensive research infrastructure and full-scale laboratories where theoretical models are transformed into commercial activities. We can therefore be a partner for companies that want to research and develop new materials, technologies, and system solutions, including solutions for zero emission maritime transport based on battery and hydrogen technology.

The Hydrogen technology department at IFE participates actively in Hub for Ocean with their expertise on hydrogen production from water electrolysis, hydrogen storage (metal hydrides, GH2 and LH2), and low temperature PEM fuel cells. We combine this knowledge with long-term expertise on materials, corrosion, flow simulations, and digital systems.
