4 reasons why you should attend

The Maritime Hydrogen Conference is approaching and will be arranged in Florø 1 – 2. November 2023. What distinguishes this conference from others is the in-depth focus on hydrogen-based fuels and the networking arena. Through knowledge sharing and working together, we will all contribute to solving technical challenges that will reduce global CO2 from maritime transport. This year, we look closer at overcoming the biggest barriers related to safety, infrastructure, and commercialization. Here are 4 reasons why you should attend the conference:

1. Journey to investment decision

The hydrogen producer GreenH2 recently announced their offtake agreement to supply the Vestfjorden ferries in Bodø with hydrogen. With a 15-year contract in place, the hydrogen production plant will have a capacity between 6 and 10 tonnes per day and an investment up to £0.8 billion. In November, GreenH will join the Maritime Hydrogen Conference to share their journey to investment decision and plans for supplying hydrogen for the maritime sector in Bodø.

 2. A culinary adventure

The Florø area is well known for excellent beer and wild sheep. At “Taste of Florø” you will get a guided tour of Kinn Brewery’s test brewery and the chance to taste their products. The whole setting will be accompanied by a Norwegian delicacy: wild sheep cured meat. The sheep enjoy seaweed at the island Reksta just outside Florø – giving the meat a unique taste!

There is a limitation on tickets to Taste of Florø – secure your place before it is too late!

3: Networking, learning and fun in a single package

One of the positive types of feedback we get from participants is that the conference is a central area for meeting all the relevant hydrogen players. All the participants joining the conference has a common cause; finding the way to realize hydrogen in the maritime sector.

The conference is a great arena to meet relevant actors across borders and the value chains. Around 60% of the participants are represents Norwegian businesses. In the remaning 40% Germany, US, the Netherlands, France, Denmark and the UK are the most represented. Registered participants come from producer, equipment suppliers, consulting, and consumer.  Since most of the participants are either CEO's or engineers working on hydrogen projects you might very well meet your future consortium partner at the conference.

4. Experience a part of Western Norway – Dinner at Knutholmen

On 1st November participants of the conference can join us for dinner at Knutholmen. About as far west in Norway as it is possible to travel, on an island facing the Atlantic Ocean - this is where you find Knutholmen. A family-run hotel with historic sea houses in stunning surroundings, and a restaurant known for its excellent seafood. We will depart from Florø to Knutholmen at 18:30 by boat and will be served a three-course meal with world-class ingredients from their doorstep.
