Background

Horizon Europe is the EU’s key funding programme for research and innovation with a budget of 95.5 billion euros. The programme is a sequel of Horizon 2020 and tackles climate change, helps achieve the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals and boosts the EU’s competitiveness and growth. It is an opportunity for businesses to collaborate closely with the European industry and develop new technology to get a competitive advantage in the industrial market.

The program is divided into three pillars:

  1.  Excellent science

  2. Global challenges and European Industrial Competitiveness (half of the budget)

  3. Innovative Europe

The pillars are divided into smaller grants and tenders, with a variety of deadline dates. Each of them has specified conditions that have to be achieved to receive funding. In pillar II: Global Challenges and European Industrial Competitiveness, you can find funding on “Climate, Energy and Mobility”.
