Joining our board was a straightforward yes for Veronica:

With a heart for new technology and hydrogen for maritime industry, it was right for me to be part of the board of OHC. The start of the green shift has passed, and we must act now to reach the emission targets set for shipping nationally and internationally. Norway is a major maritime nation and we must ensure that we also are a major shipping nation in the future. I want to influence/shape the direction of the cluster and hope my knowledge and experience can contribute positively to achieving the cluster's goals, she says.

Maritime competence

The board is an important key for the cluster administration to get input on areas to focus on and Veronica Haugan’s experience will be an important contribution to the cluster:

I want to contribute with the knowledge and experience I have gained over the last 13 years in the field of maritime industry. My expertise from both the Norwegian Maritime Authority, Maritime CleanTech, Hydrogen Solutions and TECO 2030 will contribute positively to the Board. It is important to understand the full picture of what the maritime industry is facing in the green shift.

By understanding the challenges and bottlenecks the maritime industry faces, both in terms of regulations, safety, available technology and access to fuel, I will be able to help highlight areas that the cluster should illustrate and further investigate. I have also established a large network nationally and internationally, both within the maritime and hydrogen and hydrogen-based energy carriers, which can be positive for the cluster, she ends with.
