GKP7H2

The pilot project GKP7H2 is part of DNV GL Green Coastal Shipping Program. Brødrene Aa has has designed a 30-meter-long high-speed vessel with hydrogen propulsion as part of the project. The 150 pax vessel will have 1,2 MW installed fuel cells and hydrogen tanks for storage of 450 kg hydrogen allowing the vessel to sail 120 nautical miles at 28 knots speed without refuelling.

GKP7H2 is also collaborating with in front R&D players. The GKP7H2 vessel is one of the major tasks in the 24 MEuro program MoZEES (Mobility Zero Emission Energy System) coordinated by Norwegian R&D institution IFE. Via Ocean Hyway Cluster, GKP7H2 will have direct access to results concerning development of hydrogen/FC and battery energy systems and regulations for maritime integration of these systems.
The GKP7H2 project was led by Hub for Ocean / OHC and was completed from 2016 to 2019.
