Statkraft is a leading company in hydropower internationally and Europe’s largest generator of renewable energy. The Group produces hydropower, wind power, solar power, gas-fired power and supplies district heating. Statkraft has 3600 employees in 16 countries.

“Statkraft's core business is the production of renewable power, and now the company wants to extend our activities into new types of renewable energy. The green shift presents opportunities and hydrogen is one of them, says Ulf Eriksen, VP of Hydrogen in Statkraft.

Decarbonising the transport sector will create a demand for renewable energy and new needs for transporting and storing electric power. Statkraft's plan is to produce hydrogen products – either alone or in partnership with others – and supply them as fuel.

“Subsequently, a membership in Ocean Hyway Cluster will be beneficial for Statkraft in pursuing this work. We look forward to working with other companies in the cluster, sharing and developing ideas and expanding our network”, says Ulf Eriksen.
