Steinar Kostøl joins the cluster administration

We are happy to introduce Steinar Kostøl, who is joining our team in Ocean Hyway Cluster. Steinar will be formally employed by design and engineering company Multi Maritime, but work in the cluster 40 % of his time. He is employed as a project engineer and will work towards our different cluster projects.

Steinar previously worked as a project engineer for Fjord1. From July 2017 he worked full-time with the hydrogen tender to Statens Vegvesen, thus he brings with him valuable knowledge when it comes to maritime hydrogen.  Previously he worked for 5 years with technology and development in Rolls-Royce Bergen (Bergen Engines) and before that as a project engineer for Rolls-Royce Marine (currently Kongsberg). He holds a bachelor of Energy Technology from Bergen University College and a master’s degree in Sustainable Energy, specialising in thermal energy from Danmarks Tekniske Universitet (DTU).

Steinar’s educational background and professional experience is “spot on” for Ocean Hyway Cluster and we are certain that he will be a valuable asset to our members, says Project Manager in OHC Kristin Svardal.

Steinar has already started working in the cluster and is eager to get onboard the ongoing projects.

My perception is that hydrogen, whether in liquid, gaseous or other forms, will be a central energy carrier in order to achieve maritime emission reduction targets, both in Norway and globally. Ocean Hyway Cluster plays an important role in the work being done to realise hydrogen as a maritime fuel and I am looking forward to being part of it.
