HyInfra: First reports and Interactive Map now available
Today, Thursday 30th April 2020, Ocean Hyway Cluster organised a webinar for the HyInfra project, presenting the first reports and the new interactive map.
What is HyInfra?
HyInfra is a project led by Ocean Hyway Cluster with an overall goal of reducing uncertainty related to future hydrogen infrastructure projects within the maritime industry.
The project began in January 2020, with several of the first completed work packages being presented.
More info on the HyInfra project page
Who contributed to the reports?
The webinar included an update from OHC, and had presentations from Sintef Ocean, IFE, Multi-Maritime, Lloyds Register and Amon Maritime.
What is in the reports?
Work Package A: Ship types and relevant fuel types (Sintef Ocean)
Work Package C: Mapping future hydrogen demand
Summary report H2 demand 2030 (OHC)
(C.1) H2 demand high speed ferries (IFE)
(C.2) H2 demand domestic ferries (OHC/M-M)
(C.3) H2 demand coastal route (OHC)
(C.4) NH3 demand offshore sector (AM)
Interactive map
Work package D results (Lloyds Register)
D1-D3 Safety and regulations related to hydrogen and ammonia infrastructure
Fantastic feedback - excitement about the interactive map
The interactive map developed by OHC is Norway’s leading tool in this area. In only a few quick clicks one is able to for example: zoom in on potential hydrogen ferry routes, learn about production and distribution of liquid hydrogen, compare the hydrogen demand of different vessel types and get an oversight of future ammonia demand in the offshore sector.
The work presented today in HyInfra provides a basis for further work towards reducing uncertainty and developing the future maritime hydrogen infrastructure. We are building a living, interactive, visual database which will get better and better as more projects and data are added.
We thank the contributors and look forward to the next steps.
Where can I find the reports and map?
The reports and interactive map can be found in the Member’s area.
All reports and the interactive map are exclusive to OHC members, please get in touch with Kristin Svardal if you would like to know more.
