Russian Focus on Decarbonisation

Decarbonisation of Russian transport sector can lead to significantly reduced emissions. Norwegian maritime players are ready to contribute with techical solutions.

International webinar

The international webinar “Decarbonisation of transport in the Northern Dimension countries” is run 23 June 2020. Organisers are St. Petersburg State University of Economics (UNECON) together with Northern Dimension Partnership on Transport and Logistics. The webinar provides a platform for discussion in open academic atmosphere with the insights of representatives of energy business as well as from international public organizations. The event is part of the large ENERGETIKA 21 program which focuses on economy, policy, ecology.

Maritime and land- based transportation

Two speakers will present at the webinar, setting the scene for discussions on the topic. Ocean Hyway Cluster contributes with the presentation “Hydrogen and the Norwegian maritime sector”, given by Trond Strømgren, Senior Advisor Renewable Energy and Hydrogen Value Chain/ Head R&D.
The other speaker is Vasiliy Zindin, Deputy Head of Directorate PJCS Gazprom, Executive Director of Natural Gas Vehicles Association (NGVA Russia). Mr. Zindin`s presentation is titled “Hydrogen for transportation sector: Russian perspectives”.

Discussion remarks will be given by Oddgeir Danielsen, Director, Secretariat of the Northern Dimension Partnership on Transport and Logistics.
